(More customer reviews)I purchased this product over a year ago.I was looking for something that would permanently sotp rust.I can't afford to have my car re-finished, but know from experience that if you don't get every single speck of rust off, it will come back.When I did an internet search about how to prevent rust, I was surprised to learn about products like Rust Seal, and was excited to find some for sale at Amazon.
You paint this product on just like paint, it turns black and coats the entire area.You can use it as a primer.The product doesn't say you have to, but I sanded down the rust smooth before I applied it, because the surface of the metal was "bubbly" and I wanted to smooth it out.I sanded until the metal was smooth, not worrying about getting all the rusty pits out.Then I painted on the Rust Seal, it makes a black coating.You apply two coatings of Rust Seal, then when it's dry, apply the topcoat directly on top, no primer!After a year, I don't see any rust bleeding through.It does the job!
