Like Zaino Clear Seal and Ultima Paint Guard Plus, Optimum Opti-Seal is a wipe-on, walk-away product.By that I mean you simply wipe it on your car's paint finish and you're done.The product dries 100% clear and the final gloss comes without buffing.Nothing could be easier.
There are many benefits to the Opti-Seal paint sealant, including:
- Very efficient (use less than 1/4 ounce per application)
- Eco-friendly (with zero buff-off, no waste goes into the sewer)
- Fast application (typically less than 10 minutes)
- Long lasting (the pure sealant covers better, seals better)
- Very high gloss (like a coating of glass)
- Super slick (the final finish is very slippery and beads water like crazy!)
The clear sealant products, including Optimum Opti-Seal have not gained widespread acceptance because the average consumer does not understand the value.Once you break it down into time and cost per application, it's pretty clear that Opti-Seal is the way to go.
Only a quality spray wax, like Meguiar's new Ultimate Quik Wax, is as fast and easy to apply as Optimum Opti-Seal.However, these spray waxes typically last (shine and protect) for less than a month.Opti-Seal easily shine and protects for six months or more.Plus, the level of protection, gloss and slickness is much higher.
Compared to the other two clear sealant products, I prefer Opti-Seal.In my experience, it has better gloss than Zaino Clear Seal, and it does not exhibit the occasional streaking problems of Ultima Paint Guard Plus.All three products are long-lasting, with Opti-Seal falling in the middle.
All three clear sealant products suffer the same single drawback.When applying, depending on your paint color and lighting conditions, it can be difficult to see where you have applied the sealant and where you have not.It's a minor issue.If you missed a spot, you can always go back and wipe over it with your applicator.
If you're interested in the technology behind Opti-Seal, it's a nano-polymer.Dispensing with the jargon, the best way to understand a nano-polymer is to think of it like a molecular chain-link fence.The mesh of this fence is so small that a water molecule would span hundreds of intersections.As a result, water, salt, factory pollution, and road grime simply can't get through to the paint.
If I have a single complaint about the Opti-Seal product, it's the foam application.I feel this product applies much better with a large microfiber applicator.It's a small complaint, but I mention it because you may want to try it and see if you don't get faster, easier application results.
Oh, did I mention that Opti-Seal works on glass, too?It does, and it comes close to blowing Aquapel out of the water; Rain-X isn't even close.
I give Opti-Seal an enthusiastic two thumbs up.If you're looking for the best way to keep your paint protected, slick and glossy for months and months, this is it.The fact that it's faster and easier to apply, and much kinder to our environment, are a just a few bonuses.
